We journeyed into homeschooling in Garrett’s 1st grade year when we realized that the public schools were teaching to the lowest level and he was getting bored in school. Until we found K12 in his 3rd grade year we were putting our own curriculum together.
There are numerous ways I feel supported by K12. First and foremost is the curriculum and ease of use. Being able to easily navigate through the numerous screens and features--designed simply to help me educate my child--is huge.
Learning at home empowers (my son) to be a successful adult because he will know what it takes for him to be productive as well as having a strong academic foundation for being able to follow his dreams.

The K12 curriculum has provided the structure and plan to our schooling needs. It fits well with our family lifestyle and it helps keep our kids involved in the learning process.

My son loves all the one-on-one attention, and I like that I can individualize his learning. Everything is spelled out for you, and I never would have been able to put the lessons together myself. I definitely recommend it.
My son is a very active 4-year-old. EmbarK12 is the first education program that's engaging and fun for him and maintains his interest.
For our family, the benefits of K12 have been the flexibility in scheduling and its portability. It allowed our family to travel out of state on multiple occasions for a couple weeks at a time without interrupting the schooling process at all.
K12 has a strong curriculum, fantastic teachers, and is creating an online schooling system that reaches far above the rest!
K12 saved us when we were in a desperate educational situation overseas. There were many sleepless nights (and tears!) the first 4 years we were living there when I felt there was no alternative. A friend showed me K12 and I knew right away that it was the perfect solution! With the structure and support that K12 offered, I knew I could do it.
I know of no other curriculum provider that goes to the lengths K12 does to make sure there are no gaps for the parents. And the enormous set of resources for colleges...it's incredible! I feel like I am in excellent hands as we navigate our way towards college admission.
We are thrilled that iCademy offers a variety of clubs for the students to be able to interact with each other and explore their common interests. The clubs, parties, virtual field trips, and other “school” type activities are important for having it be a well-rounded program.
